Lamellar Obsidian (Midnight Lace Obsidian) is a rare form of Obsidian and is characterized by beautifully black striped lamellae. 

Obsidian is rapidly cooling lava and is therefore often found in volcanic areas. Obsidian is often black and glassy in color but there are many varieties of Obsidian to be found. Examples include Snowflake Obsidian, Mahogany Obsidian, Apache Tears, Gold Obsidian, Lamellar Obsidian and more. 

Obsidian is a stone that holds up a mirror to you and shows you the beautiful and less beautiful sides of yourself. It is a strong insightful stone, but you must have the courage to look in the mirror. And if you dare to look, you will see the truth, who you really are. Obsidian is a stone that reduces anxiety and clears (emotional) blockages within yourself. Obsidian is therefore really a stone for people who want to work on themselves, who can take a beating and who have been walking the spiritual path for some time. Obsidian gives clarity of mind, makes you sharp. It is a stone with a detoxifying effect and improves blood clotting. Obsidian absorbs negative energy in your environment like a sponge. It is therefore recommended to clean the stone timely.
